The app is a working aid for a mediation caseworker. It works out the cost of each mediation session from the hours spent and the hourly rate, keeps the session records, and lists the sessions worst first so the caseworker can chase them in order.
The app is built to run locally on the device. It does not require an account, and the records entered into it are not sent to the developer as part of the core workflow.
The application stores mediation session records locally on the Android device. Each saved session may hold the case name, the date, the hours spent, the hourly rate, the agreed ceiling, and the parties and their roles.
Beside those records, the app keeps its own settings and display preferences and its own interface state, such as the saved order of the session list. That is the app's own state rather than the caseworker's records.
The app also keeps temporary files in its own cache, such as the last shared text file, until the next share replaces it or local app data is cleared.
None of this local content is automatically transmitted to the developer as part of the core workflow. The application does not require personal identity information for that workflow, but records the user chooses to type in may contain personal information about the parties involved.
The app can share a result as a plain-text file through the Android share sheet, and can copy a result as text to the device clipboard. Both are started by the user and happen only when the user chooses them.
Data therefore remains on the device unless the user chooses to export or share it. Once a result has been shared, saved or copied, it remains wherever the user chooses to keep it.
Some actions open other applications on the device. A link may open a browser, a contact address may open an email client, and sharing a result opens the Android share sheet.
These actions are user-initiated, and the external applications operate under their own privacy practices.
Where a user emails the company, the company receives the sender's email address and whatever the message contains. That is direct correspondence and is separate from the records the app keeps on the device.
The app allows the user to delete an individual session record and to clear all local app data from within the app.
Local app data can also be removed through the Android device settings or by uninstalling the application.
The figures the app produces come from what the user enters. The costs shown are the caseworker's own figures calculated from the hours and the rate entered; they are not a bill and not a statement of what is owed.
The chase order is a working list for the caseworker and does not decide what any party owes. Only sessions entered with a ceiling are checked and flagged.
The app is a planning and record-keeping aid, and its data stays on the device unless the user shares or copies it.
Local app data remains on the device until the user deletes it, clears local app data or uninstalls the application. Exported files remain wherever the user chooses to save, send or paste them.
Reasonable measures are used to support the integrity of the application. Local app content stays in the application's own storage on the device and is not held on company servers. Users remain responsible for securing their own device and any copies they export. No method of electronic storage or transmission can guarantee complete security.
Users in the United Kingdom or the European Economic Area may have rights under applicable data protection legislation, such as access, correction, deletion and restriction, where those rights apply under the law. Whether they apply depends on whether personal data is processed.
